DIY SOFT SENSOR

CONCEPT

When pressure is applied to the sensor an LED lights up due to the variable "touch" pressure. It uses a conductive fabric in the middle as the sensory layer. Such soft sensors can be created in multiple shapes following the DIY tutorial I made below.  

Their applications can be extended to sense body movements, soft robotics and exoskeletons. 

TUTORIAL

MATERIALS
Paper, Pencil, Scissors (paper & fabric), Base fabric, Cover fabric, Conductive fabric, Felt, Fabric glue, Needle, Cotton thread (basic sewing knowledge), 4 alligator clips, 1 battery, 2 LEDs and 1 Resistor
