Your name, age? Martina Dell'Orco, 22 years old.



Where are you from? I'm from Milan, Italy


Your occupation? I'm a student doing part time jobs such as dresser at runways during the fashion week.


Educational background? At first I studied languages in high school but as I was studying I attended a sewing course and realize that that was my passion and my path in life.


Current College/Company? Right now I'm attending the master of design for the fashion system at the Politecnico of Milan.

When the pandemic hit, what were you working on and how did it affect you? Actually for the university it was a kind of different environment from the working field. It was hard especially working in groups due to the distances but we managed to do everything!


What positive changes have you made in the past few months in your routine or yourself? The major positive change that I made during this period were about rethinking my fashion project for the future of fashion during Corona.


What strategies are you using to keep yourself busy and creative? What creative tasks irrespective of fashion have you been able to do this lock down? any hobbies you picked up? University kept me busy a lot during this quarantine but I also created a line of disposable masks with my mother for friends and family. I picked up a lot of graphics tricks that will be helpful for presenting my projects!


What do you think of your future career? How are you coping with that?

My future career now is uncertain and the Corona Virus didn't help the situation in the fashion field in Italy. But this won't le me down. My dream is to become a designer and soon or later I'll achieve that dream!

What is your opinion about fashion weeks in the future and the fashion industry? I think that fashion in this period especially has to rethink itself especially in this period.


What problems do you see on a global fashion level and what solution would you like to propose? The main problems that we have to solve in the global fashion level is the enviroNmental impact that the fashion industry cause to our world.


As an integral part of fashion's future, what change/s do you plan to make in yourself and your work? I surely want to help in with the environmental issue and create innovative collection that are 100% sustainable.


Lastly, what positive advice would you like to give to your fellow fashion lovers? Never give up and don't listen to people that tell you "it's impossible". Nothing is impossible.
